Do you feel that Tesla's Ideas on Energy and Electricity are being fully optimized in our modern society?

When I was in science cl in school we always talked about Thomas Edison but we very rarely if ever talked about Nikola Tesla. I am curious to find out how many people are familiar with Tesla and his work and if you are familiar do you feel that Tesla's science and work are being fully optimized in our modern culture? Put it this way yes Edison invented the light bulb but Nikola Tesla was the one who made it practical and cost effective for the mes to use he lit up the 1893 Worlds Fair in Chicago.
