Can I wear a blazer instead of a suit to a second interview?
I am going for my second interview for a nutritionist position at an upscale fitness club tomorrow morning. I wore a navy suit - the best suit I have - to the first interview, but unfortunately, the owner of the gym wasn't there and I was only interviewed by his business partner. Now I have to go for a second interview with the owner. The only other suits I have are beige, plum, hunter green, and brown, all suit colors which, from what I've read online, are not appropriate for an interview. I found a nice formal long beige blazer with 4 black ons and black lining on the 2 pocket openings (the blazer fabric actually has a tiny black/beige zig zag pattern but it looks beige unless you put it right in front of your face). Can I just wear this with black pants? I know it is the first time the owner is meeting me and first impressions are often the deciding factor, but to me, the blazer/slacks combo looks just as formal, if not more formal, than the other suit options I have.
