Can not having a dnc after a miscarriage cause problems in getting pregnant??

I had a miscarriage 10 years ago at the age of 19. I was only 6 weeks. The emergency physician told me that I needed to follow up with my primary to get a dnc. I never went because I thought that I had ped it, but I haven't gotten pregnant since. I don't have health insurance, so going to the doctor is not an option. Is it possible that I could have scar tissue that is preventing me from getting pregnant?? If so, can it be removed?? I don't want to have a baby until I finish school, but I need to know. Any suggestions??
